I wonder though about the anecdotal usage of data to blackmail(??) and gain power.. Perhaps am being naive and that is indeed a journalistic bead & butter? I recall Assange referring at times to a trove of information that is kept hidden by him and organisation, as a sort of safety mechanism to be released and harm people/organisations in case something might happen to Assange..
So perhaps releasing information that couldn’t be blackmailed, or that wasn’t worth being blackmailed, is indeed a journalistic dark practice..?
