hypocrisy?
Market violence enthusiasts tend to claim that in fact greater social benefit comes by the said market’s unseen forces which provide more funds in people’s pockets than direct intended social policies.
However, when it comes to stuff like drugs, pond, art linked violence (games, films, books, theatre, etc.) – suddenly only direct approaches will do, else demons break loose. Mainly the demonic nature of control..?
Anyhow, the point is that yes, perhaps sometimes directness is cool, others not – however these beats can hardly be claimed to always fit convinience. Specially in face of researched and anecdotal evidence to the contrary:
