CALL FOR IDEAS-Open Call for Bristol Biennial 2014, Crossing the Line. The theme for the 2014 Bristol Biennial, Crossing the Line, gathers a crowd of meaning, to encourage an exchange of ideas, bringing out the best of innovative and interactive work. Using a dynamic programme of spaces and locations in Bristol, artists are asked to consider: place and space, international exchange and the relationship between artist and audience.
The programme is open to proposals from artists working with: Live Art, Performance Art, Music, Visual Arts, Video, Sculpture, Drawing, Animation and cross-disciplinary collaboration. The Bristol Biennial will take place in various locations in and around the city from 12th-21st September 2014. The Biennial team will match selected projects to locations, which include re-appropriated existing space, disused sites, creative buildings and public spaces. Artists are also encouraged to suggest locations.

CALL FOR RESIDENCY APPLICATIONS-Artists’ Residencies in the Community 2014 and 2015. VARC’ is inviting visual artists to apply for twelve-month residencies at Highgreen in rural Northumberland. The Trust is hoping to appoint two artists from applications submitted; one artist to hold the residency starting 2014 and another artist to hold the residency starting October 2015. VARC’s primary aims are to:
• Promote interest, awareness and understanding of visual arts in a rural community through engagement with an artist.
• Develop visual arts projects in rural communities.
• Offer a unique opportunity to an artist wishing to develop his or her practice by working and living in a remote rural community.

CALL FOR ENTRIES-Oriel Davies Open 2014 Artists from all over the world are invited to apply. Oriel Davies is seeking submissions from artists working in any medium. This includes: performance, sound, digital, installation, painting, sculpture, print, photography, moving image, applied art and craft. The exhibition will show at Oriel Davies from 26 April – 18 June 2014. CALL FOR ENTRIES-Entries are now invited for the East Sussex Open 2014, which is open to artists and makers working in any media who live or work in the East Sussex region, including Brighton and Hove. The 2014 East Sussex Open will take place in the summer, during the gallery’s busiest time of year, and has been extended from a 7 to a 10 week run, from 4 July – 14 September.
